I am a fully trained Chartered Physiotherapist qualified to work in Animal Physiotherapy.
Animals like people respond to Physiotherapy. The purpose being to maintain mobility, function and independence and improve performance.
We treat:
- Joint and Spinal Joint problems eg. stiffness, degeneration, pain and swelling
- Injuries eg. tendon, cartilage and ligament injury, swellings, muscular injury, fracture rehabilitation.
- Neurological Injury
- Sports injuries
- Post Surgical Rehabilitation
We use a number of different techniques including:
- Reflex inhibition
- Joint and Spinal Joint Mobilisation
- Soft Tissue Techniques
- Massage
- Electrotherapy including laser, muscle stimulators and ultrasound
- Stretches
- Exercise Programs
- Stengthening and schooling advice
- Rehabilitation

Signs that may indicate that Physiotherapy could help your Horse or Dog:
Horses:
- Stiffness and resistance, particularly on one rein or another
- Unexplained Resistance eg. bucking, rearing, napping, refusal to jump
- Difficulty with getting outline and engaging the hindquaters
- A change in behaviour and temperament.
- Incorrect lead or disunited canter
- A change in behaviour when saddling up and mounting
- Irregular shoewear
- Change in Performance
Dogs:
- Altered Behaviour
- Crying when getting up or down, difficulty with stairs
- General reluctance and sensitivity
- Lameness
Horses are treated at their stables or your Vet Surgery. Dogs are usually treated at your home or Vet Surgery.
